Seniors Spur Another Scoring-Spree Win

MENOMONIE, Wis. (11/23/24)---Note to Cobber opponents in the 2025 season – you will need to score a lot of points to beat Concordia. A lot of points.

The Cobbers posted their third straight 80-plus point game and outdueled No.13-ranked Wis.-Stout 86-75. Concordia is 3-0 on the year and is averaging 106.3 points in those three contests. That total leads the MIAC and all of women's college basketball – Divisions I, II and III.

Concordia leaned on the inside-outside senior duo of Makayla Anderson and Carlee Sieben to outscore the Blue Devils. Both players dropped season-high point totals. Anderson was 10-for-14 from the floor and finished with a career-high 26 points while Sieben went 5-for-8 from outside the arc and added 24.

If you wanted to take the senior theme even further, Greta Tollefson and Jordyn Kahler both chipped in seven points to give the four Cobber seniors a combined total of 64 of the team's 86 points.

Concordia only trailed for 44 seconds against Stout and that came at the beginning of the game when the Blue Devils made the first two points of the contest. Buoyed by 3-pointers from Sieben and Taylor Safranski, the Cobbers scored the next 10 points and never looked back.

They held a 23-17 lead after the first quarter and were up by 10 points at the half. CC enjoyed a double-digit lead for the entire second half and pushed the margin to as many as 24 points in the final minute of the third quarter.

Stout (4-2) made a late run and scored nine of the final 11 points to bring the final margin to 11 points.

The Blue Devils made one more field goal (30-29) and the rebound total was all square at 35-35 but it was the Cobbers' ability to get to the free throw line that produced the win. CC was 19-for-24 (79.2%) from the foul line in the game as opposed to 4-for-10 for Stout. The Blue Devils were also whistled for 11 more fouls in the game.

Concordia will head back to Wisconsin on Tuesday when they face Wis.-River Falls on Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. The Falcons are 3-2 on the year with wins over MIAC foes St. Benedict and Augsburg.
