Olson & Goss Pace Cobbers At Running Of The Cows

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (9/16/23)---Senior Tanner Olson outdueled freshman Tyler Goss at the finish line as the pair of Cobber harriers led Concordia at the Running of the Cows Meet hosted by Carleton.

The pair helped Concordia post a 12th-place finish in the final team standings.  

Olson, who also finished as the team's No.1 runner at the season-opening MSUM Twilight Meet, ran a 27:07 on the course that will serve as the venue for the MIAC Championship Meet. It's the first time Concordia has competed on an 8K track.

Goss has now posted the second fasted time for the Cobbers in both meets of the season. He clocked a 27:11 in Northfield and averaged 5:28 per mile.

Carter Ferber and Lucas Hinojos crossed the line within .70 of a second of one another and were the No.3 and No.4 finishers for CC. Ferber posted a time of 28:35.3, and Hinojos was right off his shoulder in a pack of six runners with a mark of 28:36.0.

Cole Nowacki completed Concordia's Top 5 at the meet. He came home with a time of 29:30.

UP NEXT: The Cobbers' next meet will be in Wisconsin when they race at the Wis.-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Sept. 29.
