A Quartet Of Top 25 Twilight Finishers

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/07/18)---Junior Eric Wicklund recorded his second straight Top 10 finish and led the Cobbers at the MSU Moorhead Dragon Twilight Meet. Wicklund clocked a 22:47 over the 7K course and finished in eighth place.

Concordia had a quartet of runners finish in the Top 25 at the meet as they finished in third place as a team. The Cobbers were the only Division III team in the meet which feature a pair of NCAA Division II squads and four NAIA schools.

The four Top 25 finishers at the meet is an improvement over last year when CC only posted two runners in the Top 25.

Wicklund has now led Concordia at the MSUM Twilight Meet for the past two seasons. Last year he ran a 19:23 over the 6K course and came home in 16th place.

Sophomore Munir Iashak was the team's No.2 runner at the meet for the second straight year. Isahak crossed the line in 23:11 and placed 15th. His finish is two spots up from last year when he was 17th at the meet.

Sophomore Noah Kneeskern and freshman Nolan Christenson were the other two Top 25 finishers for the Cobbers. Kneeskern came home in 24th place with a time of 23:48 while Christenson was right with Kneeskern for most of the race and placed 25th after crossing the line in 23:50.

Kneeskern and Christenson have now been the team's No.3 and 4 finishers in the first two meets of the year.

The Cobbers had a second first-year harrier round out their scoring Top 5. Freshman Leo Smith was only 4-seconds behind Christenson and placed 27th with a mark of 23:54.

UP NEXT: Concordia will have a 2-week break before hitting the road for their first away meet of the season. The Cobbers will compete in the St. Olaf Invite on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m.
