Five Cobbers Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (6/28/24)--- Concordia had five student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Cross Country/Track & Field Teams.

Logan Clark (So., Sartell, Minn.), Peyton Johnsrud (Jr., Starbuck, Minn./Minnewaska HS), Cole Nowacki (Sr., East Grand Forks, Minn.), Jacob Pipho (So., Decorah, Iowa) and Trevor Tiongson (Jr., Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS). All five athletes win the award for the first time in their careers.

The 2024 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials.

All five athletes earned their honor for their track & field performances. In order to qualify for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete had to be seeded in the Top 50 of the region of the TFRRS performance rankings.

Clark has a 3.58 GPA while majoring in Psychology and qualified in the 110-meter hurdles. Johnsrud's high jump performance earned him academic honors. He is a Healthcare Administration major and posts a 3.54 GPA. In his first track & field season, Pipho finished in the Top 50 in the javelin and decathlon. He carries a 3.76 GPA and is majoring in Finance. Tiongson earned his award in the indoor 400 meters. He has a 3.64 GPA with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Nowacki was the only senior in the group and qualified for the honor in the 3000-meter steeplechase. He majored in Biology and minored in Mathematics, Chemistry and Psychology and finished with a 3.56 GPA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
