Pederson Honored On Senior Celebration Night
MOORHEAD, Minn. (02/16/22)---Concordia senior Grant Pederson was honored for Senior Celebration Night before the Cobbers' game with Augsburg.
The festive atmosphere wouldn't last very long for the Cobbers as the Auggies shot 61.3% from the floor, 52.2% from 3-point range and made 12 shots from distance in the first half alone. Concordia fell behind by 31-points at the break and then fell 94-64 in the final game of the regular season.
Concordia (5-16, 4-14 MIAC) finished the game by making 11 fewer 3-point field goals than Augsburg. The Cobbers were 4-for-20 (20.0%) from distance, while the Auggies went 15-for-36 (41.7%) from outside the arc.
Augsburg (16-6, 13-4 MIAC) made its big push midway through the first half. The Cobbers trailed by six points with 11-minutes left in the first half, but then then the Auggies went on a 15-3 to up the lead to 32-14. The last match strike of the half came in the final 2:44 as Augsburg closed out the half on a 15-0 run.
Concordia finished the game by shooting 37.5% (24-for-64) from the floor, 20.0% (4-for-20) from distance and 80.0% (12-for-15) from the free throw line. The Auggies shooting line for the game reads; 55.9% (33-for-59) from the field, 41.7% (15-for-36) from outside the arc and 81.3% (13-for-16) from the foul stripe.
The Cobbers had three players finish with at least 10 points in the game. Dylan Inniger was 5-for-9 from the floor and led CC with 16 points. Jackson Jangula was 6-for-9 and added 15 points, while Rowan Nelson had a dozen.
Talon Hoffer, Charlie Rasmussen and Mason Gravseth all had a team-high five rebounds.
UP NEXT: Concordia will head out on the road for the conference tournament. The Cobbers are the No.10 seed in the MIAC playoffs and will play at No.7-seed Bethel in the first round on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m.
