Jenson, Fleisch And Mortenson Earn All-Region Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/07/22)---A trio of Concordia seniors all earned D3football.com All-Region honors as announced by the website on Wednesday.

Linebacker Noah Jenson (Sr., Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield HS) was named to the All-Region First Team, while center Collin Fleisch (Fall City, Wash./Mount Si HS) and running back Peyton Mortenson (Marietta, Minn./Lac qui Parle Valley HS) both received All-Region Second Team accolades.

The three athletes all receive the prestigious D3football.com All-Region honor for the first time in their careers. The three All-Region award winners are the most in a single season for Concordia since the Cobbers had four players receive the honor in 2005 – the very first year that D3football.com started releasing All-Region honors.

Jenson is only the seventh Concordia player to receive D3football.com All-Region First Team honors in the history of the award. Jenson is now eligible for D3football.com All-American honors after adding the All-Region award to the MIAC All-Conference Team recognition he received after the conference season concluded.

Jenson led the MIAC in tackles for all games in 2022. He finished with 94 total tackles that included a conference-best 50 solo tackles and 44 assisted takedowns. He was also fourth in the MIAC in tackles for a loss (12.5) and tied for third in sacks (4.0).

Jenson's 94 total tackles tie for No.20 on the Cobber all-time single season list, while his 50 unassisted tackles are tied for 17th on the all-time list.

Fleisch earns the All-Region honor after being named to the MIAC All-Conference Team for the second straight season. He was the anchor of the offensive line that helped the Cobbers lead the MIAC in rushing in overall games. CC averaged 187.8 rushing yards per game. Concordia ran the ball 452 times in their 10 games this year which was tops in the conference and 25th most in all of NCAA Division III.

Like Fleisch, Mortenson walks away with his first All-Region award after picking up a pair of MIAC All-Conference honors. Mortenson was second in the MIAC in rushing in all games. He ran for 905 yards in the 10 games which was in the Top 50 of Division III. Mortenson ran for over 100 yards in five of the team's 10 games, and his top performance came in the team's Homecoming win over Macalester when he ran for 166 yards on 29 carries.

Mortenson finished his career as the 27th Cobber player to rush for over 1,000 yards. He ended his time in maroon and gold with 1,597 rushing yards which is 12th most in Concordia history.
