Gravdahl Goes National With D3baseball.com Honor
MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/19/23)---Senior Andy Gravdahl (West Fargo, N.D.) has gone national.
A day after earning MIAC Player of the Week honors, Gravdahl was named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week.
Gravdahl is the first player in the MIAC to earn the national award this season, and he becomes the first Cobber player to receive the D3baseball.com award since 2015, when Kyle Connelly earned the honor. Gravdahl is the fourth Concordia player to earn the national weekly award since D3baseball.com started the award back in 2012. Nick Bornhauser also claimed the honor in 2015, and Jackson Meland was put on the team in 2014.
Gravdahl earned the conference and D3baseball.com for his unbelievable 6-game stretch for the Cobbers. His 17-hit performance helped Concordia go 6-0 on the week and jump into the Top 3 of the MIAC standings.
Gravdahl finished the week by posting a .604 batting average with an astronomical 1.74 OPS (slugging percentage + on-base percentage). He also recorded nine extra-base hits and had at least three hits in five of the six games.
To top of his extraordinary week, Gravdahl also broke the school record for hits in a career that was held by head coach Chris Coste who was the 3-time MIAC MVP from 1993-95. Gravdahl broke Coste's mark of 162 hits in the Cobbers' sweep at St. Scholastica. Gravdahl now has 175 hits in his career.
