Cobbers Finish Off Dual Season At No.1-Ranked Augsburg
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (2/15/25)---Concordia capped off the 2025 "regular season" by battling No.1-ranked Augsburg in the final dual meet of the season.
The Cobbers were able to claim a pair of weight-class wins before falling 39-10.
Conncordia finished their dual-meet schedule with a 4-5 record. The Auggies, who had seven wrestlers ranked in the Top 15 of Division III, remain perfect on the year and move to 16-0.
Senior Ty Bisek claimed the only contested win for Concordia as he posted a 10-0 major decision at 141. Bisek, who is ranked No.7 in the nation and the top wrestler in the Upper Midwest Region, broke on top early when he scored a takedown in the first period.
Bisek upped his lead to 4-0 with an escape to start the second period. He posted his second takedown at the end of the second period and earned the 10-0 win with a pair of stalling points leveled against his opponent and a final point for riding time.
Bisek is now 20-1 on the season. His 20 wins are tied for the most on the team.
Elijah Hunt recorded the other team points for CC. He won by forfeit at 165 and is now 16-7 heading into regionals.
Kie Anderson scored the second-most points in an individual match by a CC wrestler. He was tied 4-4 after the first period in his match at 133 and posted a second escape in the third period before losing 15-5 to No.15-ranked Chance Suddeth.
Mason Swanson had the only loss by a decision for the Cobbers. He gave up a takedown in each of the first and second periods but got escapes on each occasion and lost 8-2 at 285.
The Cobbers will head back to Augsburg to compete in the Upper Midwest Regional Meet on Feb. 28-Mar. 1.
