Bio

Kim Wagers became the 10th head coach in the history of the Cobber women's basketball program when she was hired in the spring of 2019. Wagers took over for Hall of Fame coach Jessica Rahman who retired after the 2019 season.

Wagers guided the Cobbers back to the MIAC playoffs in 2023 and was named the D3hoops.com Region Coach of the Year and the MIAC Coach of the Year. She helped Concordia reach the conference tournament championship game for the first time since 2013.

The 2022-23 season saw the team win 22 games and finish with a 22-5 overall record. The 22 wins were the most for a Concordia team since the 1990 season. During the year, the Cobbers beat No.6-ranked Amherst on their way to winning the D3hhops.com Classic in Las Vegas.

In conference play, Concordia finished with an 18-4 mark, which was good for second place and the No.2 seed in the MIAC tournament. It was the highest league finish for Concordia since 2014, and the 18 MIAC victories are also the most since 2014.

Wagers spent the seven years prior to coming to Concordia as the top assistant coach at Wis.-Eau Claire. She took the position with the Blugolds after spending two seasons as assistant coach in basketball, and volleyball, at Wis.-Superior. Wagers helped the Blugolds post a .500 or better overall record in the past five seasons. During her tenure at Eau Claire, the program earned a berth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) postseason tournament on five occasions and the Blugolds advanced to the semifinals in three of the past five seasons.

Wagers, who is originally from Moose Lake, Minn., attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth where she played basketball for four seasons. She was named to the North Central Conference (NCC) Academic Honor Roll selection on two occasions and was captain of the Bulldogs in her senior year. Wagers graduated from Duluth with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a minor in psychology in 2008.
