Cobbers Leave Florida On A Sunny Note

ORLANDO, Fla. (3/09/23)---Concordia capped off their spring trip on a sunny note, as the swept Immaculata (Pa.) in its final match in the warm weather.

The Cobbers cruised through the three doubles bouts, and then served up six straight-set wins in singles play to captured their seventh win of the season. CC is now 7-7 on the year. The seven victories ties the total that Concordia posted in all of last year when they went 7-12, and ties for the most wins in a season since 2012.

The victory also gives the Cobbers a winning record on their spring trip. They leave Florida with a 3-2 record.

Concordia only dropped five total wins in doubles play against Immaculata. The new-found No.3 doubles powerhouse of Erin Borchard and Julia Wolf won 8-0 to push their win streak to four. They remain unbeaten on the year at 4-0.

Raquel Egge and Mary Skorich won 8-2 at No.1 doubles. They are now 7-7 on the season, and went 3-2 in Florida.

Lizzie Allan and Anna Hacker won 8-3 at No.2 doubs to bookend their Florida with wins. The victory was the fifth of the year for the duo.

Allan turned around and won baked up the double donut at No.5 singles. The win was her team-leading ninth of the year. Allan is 9-5 for the year.

Junior Emily Savageau had the other shutout win in singles play for the Cobbers. She went 6-0, 6-0 at No.4 singles to record her second singles win in Florida and fifth overall.

UP NEXT: Concordia will return to Minnesota and play a road MIAC doubleheader on Mar. 18-19 at St. Mary's and Hamline.
