Cobbers Can't Overcome Quick Turnaround

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (2/26/23)---Less than 24 hours after posting a pair of non-conference wins at home against Minn.-Morris and Wis.-Superior, Concordia dropped its second conference match of 2023.

The Cobbers dropped all three doubles matches against St. Catherine and wound up losing 8-1 to the Wildcats in a match that was played at the Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the Univ. of Minnesota.

Concordia is now 4-4 in all matches and 0-3 against league opponents. St. Catherine improves to 2-1 overall. The match was the first in conference play for the Wildcats.         

The closest bout in doubles play came at No.3 where Erin Borchard and Anna Hacker went back-and-forth, couldn't come up with a key break of serve and fell 8-5.

The lone win on the day for the Cobbers came from Borchard who went straight sets at No.6 singles. She won 6-2 in the opener, and backed that up with a 6-4 win in the second set.

Borchard is now 5-3 on the year. Her five wins is tied for the most on the Cobbers.
