Cobbers Drop Two On MIAC Road Trip

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (2/28/16)—Playing its toughest back-to-back conference road doubleheader of the season, Concordia lost 9-0 to MIAC powers Gustavus and St. Thomas on Saturday and Sunday.

The two losses drops the Cobbers overall record to 0-7 in all matches and 0-6 in conference play. Gustavus is now 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC while St. Thomas remains unbeaten at 3-0 and 2-0 in the league.

On Saturday the Cobbers' No.1 doubles team of Brittany Glatt and Jade Haseltine had the closest match of the day. They wound up losing 8-3. Haseltine wound up taking a pair of games in her singles match as she fell 6-1, 6-1 at No.3 singles.

On Sunday it was the No.2 doubles team of Kendra Stoick and Lisa Neumann that came away with the closest bout. They lost 8-2.

Haseltine once again had the most game wins in singles play. She dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision at No.3 singles.

WHAT'S NEXT
Concordia will have a pair of non-conference matches next weekend. The Cobbers will face Bemidji State on Saturday, Mar. 5 at 1 p.m. and then square off against St. Scholastica on Sunday, Mar. 6 at 9 a.m. Concordia beat Bemidji State last year 5-4 in the season opener.
