Folkestad Named MIAC Field Athlete Of The Week

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/02/25)---Concordia All-American Cooper Folkestad (Wadena, Minn./Wadena-Deer Creek HS) was named the MIAC Field Athlete of the Week for his event-winning performance in the shot put at the outdoor season opener at St. John's.
 
The award is the second of Folkestad's outdoor career. He also claimed the conference weekly honor on May 7 of last season.  
 
Not only did Folkestad win the shot put at the St. John's Invite, he also posted the second farthest distance in all of NCAA Division III this season. 
 
Folkestad carried over his All-American indoor season momentum to the outside as he came away with an easy victory in the shot put at SJU. Folkestad recorded a mark of 53-11.25 on his very first attempt of the outdoor campaign and won the event by over six feet.
