Folkestad And Goss Qualify For Indoor National Meet

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/10/25)---It will be an experienced veteran and a national newcomer representing Concordia at the NCAA National Indoor Championship Track & Field Meet in Rochester, N.Y. on Mar. 14-15. 
 
Senior Cooper Folkestad (Wadena, Minn./Wadena-Deer Creek HS) and sophomore Brady Goss (Devils Lake, N.D.) have officially been selected to participate in the national indoor meet this weekend. 
 
Folkestad, who will be making his fifth overall NCAA National Meet appearance and third indoor championship trip. Folkestad qualified for indoor nationals last season and in 2022. He also earned All-American honors in 2022.   
 
Folkestad recorded his national qualifying mark in the shot put at the MIAC Indoor Championship Meet when he came through with a mark of 55-07.75. That distance is No.10 on the Division III list this year. 
 
Goss will be making the very first trip to nationals in his Concordia career. He qualified in the mile at last weekend's Wartburg Qualifier meet. He dropped a school-record time of 4:10.20 at Wartburg, which beat his own school record of 4:12.38, which he set at the NDSU Bison Open on Feb. 8.   
 
Folkestad will compete in the prelims of the shot put on Saturday, Mar. 15 at 10 a.m. (cdt) while Goss will run in the first round of the mile on Friday, Mar. 14 at 1:35 p.m. (cdt).
