EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (9/23/13)—Concordia finished off the longest road trip of the fall season by shooting a 311 and finishing fourth at the UW-Eau Claire Invite. Sophomore Landon Poss earned low Cobber honors as he shot a 150 (70-80) and finished in a tie for sixth place.

Concordia started the two-day tournament at Eau Claire Country Club by carding a 302 which was the third best team score for a single round in 2013. The low 300 score had the Cobbers in third place entering the final round of play. The fourth-place overall finish marks the fourth time in the five tournaments this season that CC has placed in the top 5.

Poss continues to be Concordia's top scoring golfer. His 70 in the opening round on Sunday was a season-best for the All-Conference athlete. Poss has now finished in the top 10 in three of the four tournaments he has played this year. He currently leads CC with a 74.8 average.

Freshman Cade Montplaisir posted the biggest improvement from day 1 to day 2 of any Cobber golfer. After shooting a 79 in the first round, he rallied to fire a 73 on Monday. His 73 in the finale was the best round of the day for any CC golfer. Montplaisir finished with a two-day total of 152 and tied for 13th place.

Coy Papachek was the other Concordia golfer to place in the top 20 at the meet. He was one shot behind Montplaisir at 153 (73-80) and came home in a tie for 16th place.

Concordia will have one more tournament to prepare for the conference championship meet. The Cobbers will participate in the prestigious Twin Cities Classic on Sept. 28-30 at three different courses in the Twin Cities area. Concordia won the tournament in 2011.
