Déjà Vu All Over Again At NCAA Regional Meet

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (11/12/22)---It was déjà vu all over again for the Cobbers at the NCAA North Region Meet. Two weeks after matching their 7th-place finish at the MIAC Championship Meet for a year ago, Concordia duplicated their team place at the region meet by finishing in 18th place.

While the team results were exact duplicates from 2021, the Top 2 Concordia finishers at the region meet were exact duplicates of the first six meets of 2022.

Seniors Emily Rugloski and Amelia Landsverk assumed their roles at the top of the Cobber leaderboard and finished 1-2 for CC in Northfield.

Rugloski led all Concordia athletes with a time of 23:59.8. Her finishing mark pushed her into the Top 65 as she finished 64th in the meet that had 230 participants. Rugloski's 64th-place finish is a career high at the regional meet and is 46 spots higher than where she placed at last year's meet.

Landsverk continued the theme of jumping up multiple spots from last year's regional meet. She clocked a 24:25.9 and crossed the line in 89th place. That mark is 29 spots higher than last year's race when Landsverk didn't factor in Concordia's Top 5 finishers at the meet.

It would tough to compare the Cobbers' No.3 runner at the regionals from her mark in 2021, because she wasn't on the CC team that competed at the regional meet last year. Sophomore Airial Johnson continued her breakout season by finishing as the team's No.3 runner in a time of 24:39.1 She was less than 15-seconds of Landsverk's pace, and gave Concordia three athletes inside the Top 100 at the meet.

Freshman Sophia Revoir and sophomore Eden Smith were the final two members of the Cobber scoring team on the day. Revoir ran a 24:52.7 in her very first collegiate regional meet. That time is a personal best for Revoir. Smith came home in a time of 25:18.6.
