Rugloski's Career-Best Finish Paces Cobbers At MIAC

ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/29/22)---Senior Emily Rugloski posted her career-best finish at a conference championship meet, as she helped Concordia place seventh in the final team standings at the MIAC Meet held at Highland National GC.

Rugloski recorded her first-ever Top 30 finish at a conference meet as she crossed the line in 28th place in a time of 24:27.98. Her previous best finish at a conference meet came in 2019 when she placed 46th.

Rugloski's finishing time was less than 8-seconds from earning MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Fellow senior Amelia Landsverk was the team's No.2 runner on the day. She crossed the line in 24:58.88 which pushed her inside the Top 50. Her 42nd place finish was 17 spots better than her finish at last year's meet.

A pair of first and second-year athletes held down the No.3 and No.4 positions for the Cobbers at the meet. Sophomore Eden Smith crossed the line in 25:34.10, while first-year runner Sophia Revoir was 68th in a time of 25:56.35 in her very first conference meet.

Kelly Lorenz rounded out the Cobbers' scoring group at the meet. She edged teammate Airial Johnson by a mere .62 of a second as the two paced each other throughout the race. Lorenz and Johnson finished as the No.74 and No.75 finishers in a meet that had 181 harriers.                
 
UP NEXT: The Cobbers will have another 2-week training period to prepare for the NCAA North Regional Meet which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12 at St. Olaf.
