Zimmerman's Identical Rounds Lead Cobbers At Opener

SARTELL, Minn. (9/03/23)---Freshman Addicyn Zimmerman led Concordia at the season-opening St. Benedict Fall Invite over the weekend. Zimmerman was the only Cobber to finish with a 2-day total under 170 as she helped CC place 13th in the final team standings.

Zimmerman started her college career by posting identical scores of 84 at Blackberry Ridge GC. Her final total of 168 was good for a tie for 37th place. Her double scores of 84 were the lowest by any Cobber golfer at the tournament for the weekend.  

Senior Lillie Kirchner was the team's No.2 finisher. She opened with an 89 on Saturday, followed by  an 87 on Sunday. Her final total was 12 shots better than her score from a year ago at the same tournament.

Joss Leach had the most significant score improvement from Day 1 to Day for Concordia. She battled through a 97 on Saturday but then rallied to card an 85 on Sunday to post a total of 182. Last year Leach was the team's No.2 golfer at the CSB Invite, with a final total of 185.   

Lauren Lamp and Abbey Hardwick finished the Cobber squad for the year's first meet. Lamp shot a 194 (91-103), while Hardwick finished at 209 (106-103). Lamp's 2-day total was six shots better than her score in 2022.
 
UP NEXT: Concordia heads northeast to compete in the Bemidji State Invitational on Monday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 12.
