Frauenholtz Leads Cobbers At MIAC Meet

COON RAPIDS, Minn. (10/03/22)---Senior Abbey Frauenholtz closed out her conference career by leading Concordia at the MIAC Championship Meet.

Frauenholtz posted three scores under 90 and helped the Cobbers to a 9th-place finish at the conference meet. Concordia was incredibly consistent over the three days at Bunker Hills. CC shot 352 as a team on Day 1, then posted a 353 on Sunday and finished with a 351. It marks only the second time since 2014 that the Cobbers have recorded three scores under 355 at the MIAC Meet.

Frauenholtz opened her final conference meet with an 83 which tied her career low round at an MIAC Meet. She shot an 86 on Day 2, and then finished off the meet with an 89. Her total of 258 was good for 33rd place, and was only one shot off her best score at the conference tournament.

Frauenholtz came away with three birdies and 22 pars for the meet.

Junior Lillie Kirchner was one shot behind Frauenholtz, and also posted three scores in the 80's. And like Frauenholtz, Kirchner also came through with her best score in the opening round on Saturday. She carded an 85, which she followed with rounds of 88 and 89. The 85 is the second lowest score for Kirchner at an MIAC Meet. Last year she fired an 82 in her final round.

Joss Leach was the team's No.3 finisher for the three days. She opened with a 94, but then came through with identical scores of 87.

Freshman Lauren Lamp and sophomore Abbey Hardwick were the team's No.4 and No.5 golfers for the MIAC Meet. Lamp recorded the best score of her first MIAC Meet in the final round on Monday. She came home with an 86 that included seven pars. Lamp opened the tournament with rounds of 90 and 96. Hardwick came through with her best round on Day 2, when she had a pair of birdies and carded a 92.
