Cobbers Have A Trio Of Top 20 Finishers At Season Opener

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (9/03/22)—Concordia had three runners finish in the Top 20 at the season-opening St. Ben's Triangular Meet. Amelia Landsverk, Emily Rugloski and Kiya McLaurin all crossed the line in under 21:20 and helped CC to a third-place finish.

Landsverk led the Cobbers by posting a time of 20:20. Her mark was good for ninth place and her first career Top 10 finish at a college meet. Last year Landsverk was the team's No.3 runner at the season-opening meet.

Rugloski crossed the line in 14th place with a time of 20:41, while McLaurin was 19th in her very first collegiate race. The Devils Lake HS product clocked a 21:11 which was a full 6-seconds faster than the No.20 finisher.

Kelly Lorenz and Eden Smith finished off the Top 5 scorers for the Cobbers. The two crossed the line within 12-seconds of one another and came home in 23rd and 24th place. Lorenz posted a mark of 21:25 and Smith had a time of 21:37.    
    
UP NEXT: Concordia will head over to the Bluestem Event Center for its next meet. The Cobbers will compete in the annual MSU Moorhead Twilight Meet on Friday, Sept. 9 at 8:30 p.m.
