Veteran Duet & Rookie Trio Lead CC

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (10/27/18)---It was status quo for the Cobbers at the MIAC Championship Meet. Junior Kara Andersen led the team in all five meets leading up to the conference race and she added a sixth race to her No.1 list.

Andersen ran a 23:50 over the 6K course and finished in 27th place, She was only two spots away from earning MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Andersen's Top 30 finish led Concordia to ninth place in the final team standings. The Cobbers finished with 231 total team points.

Andersen improved on both her time and finish from last year's conference meet. She bettered her finish by nine places from a year ago and was one second faster than her finish in 2017.

Brianna Gruenberg was the only other member of the CC conference contingent to finish in the Top 50. She posted a time of 24:20 and crossed the line in 43rd place. It marked her fourth straight Top 50 finish at the MIAC Conference Meet.

Concordia had a trio of MIAC Championship Meet newcomers round out their Top 5 behind Andersen and Gruenberg.

Miriah Forness recorded a time of 24:39 and was 60th at the meet. She led a group of three Cobber runners who finished within 30 seconds of one another and rounded out the scoring Top 5 for CC.

Emily Rugloski was the team's No.4 finisher. She ran a 25:01while Meritt Millercame home in 25:09.

UP NEXT: Concordia will have a 2-week training break before competing at the NCAA Central Region Meet at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa on Nov. 10.
