Concordia cruised to a straight-sets win over North Central (25–14, 25–19, 25–13) on Saturday night, earning their second victory of the season.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/13/25) – The Cobber volleyball team found its rhythm Saturday night and never let up, powering past North Central (MN) in straight sets for a 3–0 sweep. Concordia controlled the match from the first serve, winning by scores of 25–14, 25–19, and 25–13 to lock in their second victory of the year.
The spark came early in the first set when sophomore Becca Woody stepped to the line and rattled off six straight points. She dropped in a pair of aces during the run, while Annie Horan and Cayla Sailer took charge at the net with kills and blocks that set the tone. The Cobbers closed the opener on an 11–3 burst to grab the 25–14 win.
North Central pushed back in the second, trading points with Concordia until the midway mark. That's when the Cobbers showed their depth. Sailer put away three big kills, while Lauren Bangs and Addy Klemin added momentum-swinging finishes. A late ace from Sailer punctuated the 25–19 set win and gave Concordia a commanding 2–0 lead.
With the sweep in sight, the Cobbers put the match away quickly in the third. Mallory Leitner, Bangs, and Klemin all contributed to a double-digit lead, while freshmen Stella Satrom and Addison Rust chipped in off the bench. Fittingly, Horan delivered a thunderous kill to seal the 25–13 clincher.
Concordia was efficient at the net, hitting .192 as a team, highlighted by Bangs' .444 average. Horan and Sailer each posted a team-high nine kills, with Horan also adding two blocks. Woody made the most of her time at the line, finishing with three aces and six digs, while Betsy Schiltz ran the offense with 24 assists and a team-high nine digs.
The Cobbers are back on the court next Friday, Sept. 19, when they head to UW–Superior for the Yellowjacket Invite.
