Wiggs Earns MIAC Postseason Award

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/03/21)---Senior Kendra Wiggs (St. Hillaire, Minn./Lincoln HS) was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Freshman Mariah Iwen was selected by Concordia as the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Wiggs earns the first All-Conference award in her career, and she becomes the first Cobber to be named to the postseason team since 2018 when Brianna Carney earned MIAC All-Conference honors.

Wiggs started all 11 conference matches for the Cobbers. She led the team in attack percentage, total blocks, solo blocks and assisted blocks and was second in kills. Wiggs finished the MIAC season with a .233 hitting mark, had 31 total blocks, 6 solo blocks and 25 assisted blocks. She also had 84 kills in 40 sets played.

Wiggs finished tied for seventh in the MIAC in total blocks, tied for fourth in solo blocks and tied for ninth in assisted blocks.  

Wiggs posted double-digit kill totals in four matches during league play. She had 13 kills in contests against St. Catherine and St. Benedict. Wiggs' best hitting of the year came in the last weekend when she had a .429 attack percentage against Hamline and a .400 mark vs. St. Benedict. She also hit over .400 against Macalester.

On the defensive end, Wiggs had at least three blocks in six matches. She posted at least four blocks in three of the last six contests. Wiggs' top block output of the year came against Carleton when she had three solo blocks and six assisted blocks for nine total denials.
