Cobbers Fall At Hamline In Final Away Match

ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/29/21)---Concordia lost 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 20-25) at Hamline in the final away game of the 2021 season.

The Cobbers could never come up with a late-set rally and fell for the third straight match. CC is now 8-17 overall and 1-9 in conference play. The Pipers win of r the seventh time in the last eight matches and up their record to 19-6 in all matches and 9-1 in the MIAC.

Concordia started slowly by hitting only .081 in the first set but then finished by posting an attack percentage of over .100 in the final two sets.

The Cobbers finished the match with 27 kills and a .117 hitting percentage, while Hamline had 48 winners and a .205 attack mark.

Senior Kendra Wiggs led the Cobber front line players. She had team highs in kills, attack percentage and blocks. Wiggs finished with six kills, an attack mark of .429 in 14 total attacks and added four blocks.

Anna Brakke posted five winners and nine digs. Peyton Selle also had five kills, while Brook Carney and Hannah Keil added four each.

Karlie Goschen led the Concordia defense with 15 digs. Mariah Iwen had 11 assists on the night and Kenzie Urbanec added 10.   
 
UP NEXT: Concordia will finish off the 2021 season when they host St. Benedict on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. The Bennies are 5-5 in the conference and need a win to clinch an MIAC playoff berth.
