Five Cobbers Receive CSC Academic All-District Honors
MOORHEAD, Minn. (6/28/24)--- Concordia had five student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Cross Country/Track & Field Teams.
Maddie Guler (Sr., Pelican Rapids, Minn.) and Drew Frolek (Jr., Lidgerwood, N.D.) both earned the All-District for the second straight season, while Jenna Kalevik (Jr., Otsego, Minn./Rogers HS), Emily Rengo (So., Esko, Minn.) and Meg Shercliffe (Sr., Alexandria, Minn.) all claim the award for the first time in their careers.
The 2024 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials.
All five athletes earned their honor for their track & field performances. In order to qualify for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete had to be seeded in the Top 50 of the region of the TFRRS performance rankings.
Guler, who also earned CSC Academic All-District honors in basketball, was in the Top 50 in the North Region in the outdoor 400 meters. She finished her Cobber career with a 3.95 grade point average while majoring in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. Frolek is a nursing major and has a 3.93 GPA. Athletically, she was in the Top 50 in the region in the indoor 800 meters. Kalevik claimed her honor in the sprint hurdle events as well as the pentathlon and heptathlon. She carries a 3.62 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Psychology. Rengo, who is majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics and Psychology, has a 3.75 GPA. She was in the Top 50 in the region in multiple sprint events. Shercliffe earned her award in the indoor and outdoor 400 meters. She majored in Psychology and Neuroscience and had a 3.84 GPA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
