A Home Non-Conference/Conference Weekend
Concordia hosted Wis.-Superior and St. Scholastica in a non-conference/conference doubleheader weekend at Courts Plus in Fargo. The Cobbers fell 7-0 to the Yellowjackets on Saturday and dropped a 7-2 decision to the Saints on Sunday.
FARGO, N.D. (3/30/25)---Concordia hosted Wis.-Superior and St. Scholastica in a non-conference/conference doubleheader weekend at Courts Plus in Fargo.
The Cobbers fell 7-0 to the Yellowjackets on Saturday and dropped a 7-2 decision to the Saints on Sunday.
Concordia's closest individual matches against Superior in the first team bout of the weekend came at the top of the singles lineup. Senior Anna Hacker and first-year athlete Emma Farder both lost in the super-set tie-breaker after winning the opening set of their match.
Hacker rolled to a 6-1 win in the first set in her match at No.1 singles but then lost 7-5 in the second bout to set up the super-set. She wound up falling 10-5 in the tie-breaker.
Farder started her match at No.2 singles with 7-6 (7) victory in the opener. She lost the second set 6-1 but recovered to take the tie-breaker into extra points where she lost 11-9.
Hacker and Farder also took part in the closest doubles match. They lost 6-4 at No.1 doubles.
Concordia was able to take single wins in both doubles and singles against St. Scholastica on Sunday.
Annalise Skrade and Claire Kimman came up with an 8-6 win at No.3 doubles to get CC into singles play trailing 2-1. The victory was the duo's team-leading third of the season.
First-year athlete Ava Lowman recorded her first collegiate singles win to give the Cobbers their point in singles play. She had the momentum for the entire match at No.4 singles and used that to win in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).
Concordia will have an away/home weekend next Saturday and Sunday. The Cobbers will play at Northwestern on Apr. 5 and return home to host St. Benedict on Apr. 6 in the final home match of the 2025 season.
