Seniors Finish Season With Back-To-Back Wins

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/30/21)----Concordia scored three goals in the first half and sent its seniors out on a 2-game winning streak as they blew by Hamline 4-1.

The Cobbers used a strong wind in the first half to net a trio of goals in the first 30 minutes of play to secure their second straight victory to end the 2021 season.

Senior Lauren Tschider got Concordia on the board first when she knocked home a cross from a corner kick taken by Sophia Robinson. The goal at 9:03 was Tschider's fourth of the year and third in the last six games.

Robinson would double Concordia's lead in the 21st minute – and once again it would come off of a corner kick. This time Robinson wouldn't need any help as her service curled into the back, right corner of the net. Robinson's goal at 20:40 was her third of the season and proved to be the eventual game-winning goal.

Sophomore Lindsey Hildenbrand finished off the trio of first-half strikes when she scored her second goal in as many games. Hildenbrand, who scored the game-winning goal in OT against Bethel on Wednesday, headed home a cross from in-close to push the lead to 3-0. Tschider made a run down the left wing and crossed the ball to Hildenbrand.

Hamline (7-8-1/3-7-1 MIAC) would put their only marker on the board in the 67th minute of play. Freshman Clara Rooney finished off the scoring in the 79th minute when she netted her first collegiate goal.

Tschider's second assist of the game set up the final goal. She played a ball from the middle of the field to Rooney who made a run to the top of the penalty area on the right side of goal. Rooney took one dribble inside the area and fired a curling shot that went over the goalie and under the crossbar on the left side of goal.

The assist for Tschider was her team-leading sixth of the year and gave her 14 points which also leads the team.

Freshman goalie Kaitlin Petrich made two stops to record her second straight win.

Concordia outshot the Pipers 15-3 in total shots and 12-3 in shots on goal.
