Turf Is Tough On Cobbers

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (10/16/21)---Concordia's streak of 1-goal games came to end. The Cobbers, playing of an artificial surface for only the third time all season, allowed the first three goals of the game against Augsburg and lost 3-1 in Minneapolis.

The Cobbers entered the game having played four straight 1-goal games, but a single goal in the first half and then two more in the second by the Auggies was too much to overcome.

Concordia's goal came from the foot of junior Sophia Robinson who scored an unassisted goal at the 85:05 mark. The tally was Robinson's second of the season.

Augsburg held a 7-2 edge in shots on goal and a 23-7 advantage in total shots.

Junior Samantha Holmberg led the Cobbers with three total shots in the game. Robinson and junior midfielder Grace Lawlor had the two shots on goal for CC in the game, while Lauren Tschider and Hallie Thompson recorded the other total shots.

Concordia used two goalies in the only night game of the year. Bre Nelson got the start and played the first 82:55. She made four saves in the game and now has 74 on the season which is fourth most in the MIAC.

Freshman Kaitlin Petrich played the final 7:05 and wasn't credited with a save. It was the first MIAC action of her career.
