Robinson Rattles Regional Rival

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/07/13)—A pair of goals just over 3-minutes apart in the first half turned out to be the difference maker in the Cobbers' 3-0 over regional rival St. Scholastica on Saturday.

Elizabeth Robinson sparked the three-goal win for Concordia. She opened the scoring with a goal in the 26th minute and then capped off the team's season-high goal output with her second goal of the game at 49:20. Both of her goals came from less than seven yards out and were set up by slick passing plays from CC.

Concordia's offense was able to get behind the Saints' defense all day long. The Cobbers held a 19-2 edge in overall shots and a 7-2 margin in shots on goal. CC did not give up a corner kick in the entire 90 minutes and were able to create six corners on the offensive end.

Marta Prosinski scored the second goal for the Cobbers. She one-timed a shot from just outside the 6-yard box after a pass from Gina Weiss. It was Prosinski's second goal of the season.

Robinson now has a team-leading five points on the year. She also had a game-high four shots against St. Scholastica.

Cobber keeper Elizabeth Bitzan made two saves to earn her second consecutive shutout. She has now gone 230 minutes without allowing a score.

Concordia will finish off the Cobber Invite on Sunday, Sept. 8 when they host Augustana (Ill.) at 12 p.m.
