Bio

Shelby Amsley-Benzie joined the Cobber coaching staff in the summer of 2018. She is responsible for coaching the Concordia goalies.

Amsley-Benzie is a huge addition to the Concordia staff as she brings Division I playing experience to her position. Amesely-Benzie played collegiately at the University of North Dakota where she starred for the Fighting Hawks from 2013-16. She was the first UND goalie to ever earn All-American honors and was a 2-time WCHA All-Conference award winner.

In addition to her excellence on the ice, Amsley-Benzie was also a national award winner in the classroom. She earned the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, was a 3-time Scholar All-American and was a 3-time WCHA All-Academic Team honoree.

Amsley-Benzie finished her collegiate career by playing in 111 games and had a 1.69 goals against average. She also finished with an impressive .929 save percentage and recorded 67 victories in goal for the Fighting Hawks.

Amsley-Benzie graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 2016. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering in 2017.   

Amsley-Benzie went on to play professionally for the Minnesota Whitecaps in 2016-17 and played for the U.S. Women’s National Team in the Four Nations Cup in 2016.

Amsley-Benzie also works as a process engineer at Minn-Dak Farmer’s Cooperative in Wahpeton, N.D.
