Bio

Emily (Sell) Lunak is a familiar face for Cobber women’s hockey fans. She was a standout player for the Cobbers from 2009-11. She finished her 3-year career with the Cobbers with 32 goals and 49 assists for 81 points.

Lunak was named to the MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team in both her junior and senior seasons and was among the Top 10 in the conference in scoring in both seasons. She was the team captain in her senior season and finished with 10 goals and 26 assists. She was second in the MIAC in total points. Her 26 assists led all players and is one of the top season totals in program history.

Lunak graduated from Concordia in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree while majoring in Political Science. She went on to become the assistant coach for the Williston High School girls’ team in 2011 and then moved back to Moorhead to become the head coach for the Moorhead High School girls’ hockey team. She directed the Spuds for three seasons and stepped down in the spring of 2017.

Lunak also works for the college in the Advancement Office where she is the Associate Director of the Concordia Annual Fund.
