Klause Bookends MIAC Meet Career

HASTINGS, Minn. (5/02/21)---Senior Bailey Klause capped her Cobber career by posting three straight scores in the 80s and led the Concordia contingent at the MIAC Championship Meet.

Klause finished the three rounds at Emerald Greens GC by posting the identical scores she had as a freshman, when she also led the Cobbers, at the 2017 conference championship meet.

Klause started her senior MIAC Meet with an 89 on Friday, she dropped three shots on Saturday and came home in 86. Klause carded an 87 on Sunday to finish with a 3-day total of 262 which was good for 38th place. In 2017, Klause also went 89-86-87 for a 262 and placed 34th.

Klause closes her collegiate career by recording 11 of her 12 conference meet scores in the 80s. Her MIAC low total came in 2019 when she shots a 243 (80-83-80) and tied for 15th place.

The biggest improvement of the three Cobber players over the weekend came from sophomore Abbey Frauenholtz who opened with a 96 in Round 1 but then carved nine shots off that score in both the second and third rounds. She ended the tournament with a total of 270 which was tied for 39th place.

Frauenholtz has scored in the 80s in five of her six rounds in the conference meet.

Freshman Lillie Kirchner tied with Frauenholtz with a total of 270. She started her first conference meet with a 92 but then dropped five shots on Saturday and posted an 87. Kirchner shot a 91 on Sunday to finish tied for 39th place.
