Improvement Shown On Day 2

SARTELL, Minn. (9/01/19)---Concordia showed improvement in its second round of the season as they finished with a team score of 350 on Day 2 of the St. Benedict Invite and finished in ninth place.

The 350 team score represents an 11-stroke improvement over their opening round of the year on Day 1. The Cobbers finished with a total score of 711 which was only four shots behind DII St. Cloud State.

In addition to their improvement from the first to the second day, the Cobbers also made strides from their finish last year at the same tournament. Concordia finished with a total of 716 in 2018 and placed 11th in the final team standings.

The Cobbers were led by freshman Abbey Frauenholtz who fired a 2-round total of 170 and finished in a tie for 28th place. Frauenholtz mirrored the team as she improved from Day 1 to Day 2. She cared an 87 in her first collegiate round of golf and then lowered that to an 83 on Sunday to shoot a 170.

Upperclass athletes Bailey Klause and Katie Krueger were the team's No.2 and No.3 finishers. Junior Klause went 86-92 and finished in a tie for 42nd place while Krueger was one shot behind at 179 (92-87) and placed in a tie for the No.44 spot.
