It Doesn't Add Up In Arden Hills

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (12/08/21)---Concordia was tied with host Bethel 22-22 midway through the second quarter but then the Royals knocked down a 3-pointer, and CC was never able to get to within three for the remainder of the game and lost 74-56.

The loss is the fourth straight conference defeat for Concordia, after they opened the year with a home win over St. Catherine. The Cobbers are now 1-5 in all games and 1-4 in the MIAC. Bethel wins for the second straight game and is now 3-5 overall and 2-3 in league play.

The Cobbers were 5-for-25 (20.0%) from outside the arc against Bethel. It marks the fifth game this season that Concordia has shot above 30.0% from 3-point range.

Concordia finished the game by shooting 38.6% (22-for-57) from the floor and were 7-for-14 (50.0%) from the free throw line. Bethel knocked down 52.3% (23-for-44) of their attempts from the floor and shot 64.3% (9-for-14) from distance. BU was also 19-for-24 (79.2%) from the foul line.

The Cobbers were outrebounded 33-21 but held a 28-26 edge in points in the paint.

Mary Sem posted a season-high 17 points for Concordia. She also added four assists, three steals and three rebounds.

Autumn Thompson was the only other CC player in double figures in scoring. She scored 10 points and had two of the team's five made shots from outside the arc.
