Beseman Earns MIAC Weekly Honor

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/15/21)---Sophomore guard Emily Beseman (Swanville, Minn.) was named the MIAC Player of the Week after her 22-point, 8-rebound performance against St. Benedict on Friday.

Beseman's Player of the Week night helped the Cobbers beat the Bennies 71-62 in the final game of the 2021 season. It also helped Concordia capture the best-of-3 season series with St. Benedict.

Beseman earns the weekly honor for the second time this season. She also earned the MIAC Player of the Week award on Feb. 22 when the Cobbers beat the Bennies and Bethel and she averaged 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in those two games.

Beseman had a near-perfect shooting night on Friday. She missed only one shot the entire game. Beseman was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point range and 8-for-8 from the free throw line.

Beseman had 16 of her 22 points in the first half as she was a part of the Cobber offense that built up a 42-27 lead at the break which allowed CC to coast to the 9-point win.

Beseman finished the year by leading Concordia in scoring. She averaged 15.7 ppg over the team's seven games on the year. She also had a team-high 20 assists and was second in rebounding (5.3 rpg).
