Cobbers Finish 17th in Jo Rider Men’s Maroon Race at Roy Griak Invitational
Concordia-Moorhead faced a stacked field in one of the largest cross country races of the season, competing in the Jo Rider Men’s Maroon Race (Division II & III) at the Roy Griak Invitational. The Cobbers ran a strong team race on the Les Bolstad Golf Course, finishing 17th out of 21 complete teams in a field of more than 250 runners.
SAINT PAUL, Minn. (9/19/25) — Concordia-Moorhead battled through one of the largest and most competitive fields of the season on Friday, finishing 17th in the Jo Rider Men's Maroon Race (Division II & III) at the Roy Griak Invitational. The Cobbers posted 441 team points against a field of 21 complete teams on the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Junior Tyler Goss led the way for Concordia, crossing the finish line in 27:32 to place 32nd overall in a field of more than 250 runners. Goss hit the opening mile in 5:10 and maintained his pace to earn a Top-35 finish.
Carter Ferber was the second Cobber across the line in 28:13 for 64th place. Weston Mahar (30:04), Brady Andrews (30:37), and Stetson Gisselbeck (30:45) rounded out the scoring lineup, keeping the team's 3–5 runners within 41 seconds of each other.
The Cobbers also saw tight pack running from Evan Grover (31:09), Gavin Carl (31:11), and Calvin Johnson (31:23), who finished just 14 seconds apart to bolster Concordia's depth.
Michigan Tech won the team title with 35 points, while Minnesota State (100) and Dordt (121) rounded out the Top 3 squads.
Concordia will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Wis.-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational as they continue their buildup toward the MIAC Championships in late October.
