Getting Ready For The MIAC

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (10/13/18)--- A shorthanded Cobber squad finished sixth at the UND Ron Pynn Classic in the final prep race before the MIAC Conference Meet. Concordia competed at the NCAA Division and II meet without their No.2 runner.

The Cobbers finished only 23 points behind Division I host North Dakota at the meet which featured three Division I schools and two Division II squads.

Junior Eric Wicklund finished just outside the Top 25 to lead Concordia. He ran a 26:51 over the 8K course which put him in 27th place. Wicklund has now led CC at two straight meets and in three of the five competitions this year.

Concordia was without sophomore Munir Isahak who was attending a conference for his school work. Isahak has been the team's No.1 or No.2 runner throughout the season.

Freshman Nolan Christenson stepped into the No.2 spot for the meet as he clocked a 27:16 and was just inside the Top 40 with a 38th-place finish.

Connor Haugrud continued the success he found at last week's Jimmie Invitational when he finished in the team's Top 5 for the first time in 2018. Haugrud was the No.3 harrier to cross the line for the Cobbers at UND when he came through with a mark of 27:27.

Olsen Pancoast was No.4 for the Cobbers. He ran a 29:01 and finished just outside the Top 50.
