Team & Individuals Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/13/22)----The Concordia men's track and field team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors, and four student-athletes were named to the All-Academic List for the USTFCCCA.

In order to be honored as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team a program must have a combined team grade point average (GPA) of 3.10 on a 4.00 scale.

Washington (Mo.) was named the NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Team of the Year, while UW-Eau Claire was named the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Team of the Year. The Bears maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.66 and were co-champions at the 2022 NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championships with UW-Eau Claire.The Blugolds maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.27 and won the national title at the 2022 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

More than 150 teams were honored by the USTFCCCA on Wednesday.

The Cobber men's track and field team finished the year with a team GPA of 3.48, which was an increase from last year's All-Academic Team that carried a 3.34 GPA.

The four student-athletes who earned individual All-Academic honors were Jake Kerzman, Jesse Middendorf, Colin Schuller and Cal Wright. Middendorf, Schuller and Wright all earned the award for the third consecutive season.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have finished the season ranked among the Top 50 individuals in an event or have been a part of a relay team that was ranked in the Top 35.
