Aaron Herdt returned to the Cobber men's hockey program as an assistant coach for the the 2022-23 season.

Herdt played for Concordia for two seasons, and was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team in both years. During his senior season in 2019-20, he led the team in goals scored and was second on the team in scoring. Herdt had seven conference goals which was tied for seventh most in the MIAC. He also finished the year with 12 total points which was in the Top 15 of the league. Herdt had at least one point in 10 MIAC games and had a goal in seven games. He also scored three game-winning goals which was second most in the conference. 

During his junior year Herdt had 11 goals and six assists after only playing in 14 MIAC games. He led the conference in game-winning goals with five and was tied for fifth in total points and his 11 total goals were second in the MIAC.

Prior to playing for the Cobbers, Herdt was a mameber of the Division I University of Alaska-Fairbanks program. Herdt played his high school hockey for the Moorhead Spuds. 

Herdt currently works as the building manager for the Cullen Hockey Center in Moorhead.
