Chris Howe Announces His Resignation

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/10/21)---Concordia-Moorhead Athletic Director Rachel Bergeson announced that men's hockey, and men's golf, head coach Chris Howe has resigned to pursue other coaching opportunities.

Howe was at the start of his 14th season as head coach of the Cobber men's hockey team.

"I would like to thank Chris for his 14 years as head coach of the men's hockey team," Bergeson said. "His enthusiasm and passion for the game have been evident throughout his tenure."

Howe started in the 2008-09 season and compiled a 131-146-37 overall record in his first 13 seasons. He helped the Cobbers earn a spot in the MIAC playoffs for eight consecutive seasons, with his highest league finish coming in 2020 when the team placed second in the final standings.

Howe became the fourth men's hockey head coach since 1967 when he took over for Steve Baumgartner in the summer of 2008.

Bergeson said that assistant coach Dale Lund will act as interim coach until a further decision can be made.
