Kahlbaugh Named Men's Golf Head Coach

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/25/22)---Concordia Director of Golf Operations Joe Christianson announced that former Cobber Nathaniel Kahlbaugh has been named the new head coach of the men's golf program. He becomes the 10th head coach in program history.

"Nate's familiarity with the Concordia program and his success in the MIAC made him the top choice for the position," Christianson said. "He understands what it takes to compete as a student-athlete at the Division III level, and his ability to connect with the golfers will help him make a positive impact on the team."

Kahlbaugh was a 2-time MIAC All-Conference award winner for the Cobbers. His top finish at the MIAC Conference Meet came in 2017 when he finished in a tie for sixth place. Kahlbaugh led Concordia in scoring in both his junior and senior seasons. He finished his career with a 77.1 average after playing in over 65 competitive rounds for the Cobbers.

Kahlbaugh's best round came in the 2018 Cobber Spring Match-Up when he recorded a 68 and won the event by 10 strokes. Kahlbaugh also carded a 69 in the second round of the St. John's Fall Invitational in 2018 when he went on to finish in a tie for third in the event.

"I am extremely excited to start this journey,"Kahlbaugh commented. "Concordia is the perfect fit for me. Being an alum and having played in the MIAC will give me a chance to help the student-athletes improve every year. I am looking forward to working with this year's team. They have a great group of young players, and I will be able to coach them throughout most of their entire college career."

Kahlbaugh also works as a technical recruiter for ProSource Professional Sourcing and Recruiting located in Fargo.
