Kahlbaugh Is All-MIAC x 2
MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/10-19)---Senior Nathaniel Kahlbaugh earned his second consecutive MIAC All-Conference honor as released by the conference coaches on Friday.
Junior Gage Stromme was the team's selection for the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
The league releases the All-Conference list after the spring portion of the season even though the conference championship meet takes place in the fall.
Concordia has now had at least one All-MIAC golfer for the past 10 years and Kahlbaugh becomes the second Cobber golfer to earn back-to-back conference honors in the past three seasons. Case Montplaisir earned MIAC All-Conference honors in 2016 and 2017.
Kahlbaugh earned All-Conference honors by virtue of his overall season performance. The Top 10 finishers at the MIAC Championship Meet in the fall automatically earn the award and then five more selections are made by the coaches on the overall play during the entire season.
Kahlbaugh finished in a tie for 18th place at the MIAC Meet but during the year he was second at the Cobber Fall Invite, third at the Gustavus Twin Cities Classic and fourth at the Jamestown Fall Invitational. Kahlbaugh led the men's golf team in scoring in the fall of 2018 with an average of 75.4 and only posted one score above 77 in the entire season.
Kahlbaugh's best round of the year came at the Gustavus Twin Cities Classic where he fired a 71 in the second round. He went on to finish third in the 98-player field.
