MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/04/20)---Concordia went back-and-forth with No.5-ranked St. Thomas through the first 10 minutes of the opening half but then Tommies found their range from the outside, went on a 30-6 run to finish the period and rolled to a 85-49 win.

St. Thomas connected on 14 shots from 3-point range in the final 30 minutes of play and shot 52.6% (30-for-57) from the floor as they kept the Cobbers from gaining any momentum in the second half.

The loss in the first game after the Christmas break drops Concordia's record to 2-8 on the season. The Cobbers are 0-6 in conference play. St. Thomas wins their eighth straight game and is now 9-1 in all games. UST remains unbeaten in MIAC play at 5-0.

The Tommies made 10 more 3-pointers in the game than the Cobbers. Concordia finished the game by shooting 36.2% (17-for-47) from the field and 26.7% (4-for-15) from outside the arc.

St. Thomas held a 34-22 edge on the boards and a 24-8 margin in points in the paint.

Concordia had 11 players with at least two points in the game. Junior guard Bryden Urie led the Cobbers with nine points and five rebounds.

Senior John Reiten finished with eight points and added two blocks. Ian Schafer had seven points and Adam Daggett finished with five.

The Cobbers also had four players score their collegiate first in maroon and gold. Samuel Cota, Braeton Motschenbacher, Grant Pederson and Josh Jeziorski all came off the bench to knock down the first points of their college careers.

UP NEXT: Concordia will only have one day to prepare for its next conference game. The Cobbers will host Bethel on Monday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. The Royals are 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the MIAC and are coming off an 84-57 win at home over St. Mary's on Saturday.
