Cobbers Earn NABC Academic Award

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/11/18)—For the fourth time in the last five seasons Concordia earned the prestigious National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, created by the NABC Committee on Academics.

These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season. In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2017-18 season.

As a team the Cobbers finished the 2017-18 season with a 3.00 team grade point average and were one of six schools from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to earn the academic distinction. Concordia was also one of two colleges in the Fargo-Moorhead area to earn the award.

Concordia had 15 players on the varsity roster who attained at least a 3.25 GPA.

The NABC awarded the academic excellence award in 2017-18 to less than 200 schools in all of NCAA and NAIA.
