Senior Salute Josh Schmidt

The Cobber "Senior Salute" series is a way to honor all the Concordia spring sports athletes who had their senior season come to an abrupt halt. We want to highlight one senior each day to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and Cobber spirit they have show over their careers in maroon and gold.

Cobber Senior Salute - Josh Schmidt - Baseball

What is one of the things you were looking forward to most for this year’s season?
Our team had a great chance to compete for a MIAC title. We have a lot of juniors and seniors that have worked incredibly hard to get where they are, as well as many younger guys that were ready to make big contributions. I know after Florida we were all excited to see the things this team could do.

What is one of the top things you will miss about being a Cobber athlete?
I will definitely miss all the time spent with my teammates. Whether it be with the boys in the bullpen on game day, or just a practice at The Buck, everything we did as a team was always a great time due to all the incredible personalities on this team.

What is something you are going to miss about Concordia College – away from athletics?
I would have to say the people. This campus is full of supportive staff, professors and students that want to see each other succeed.

What is one of your favorite highlights/memories from your time playing athletics/being with your team?
My favorite memory would have to be last year when we swept St. Thomas.

What are your post-graduation plans?
I am applying for medical school this summer - and spending a gap year doing research.
