Senior Salute - Jared Saue

Senior Salute - Jared Saue

The Cobber "Senior Salute" series is a way to honor all the Concordia spring sports athletes who had their senior season come to an abrupt halt. We want to highlight one senior each day to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and Cobber spirit they have show over their careers in maroon and gold.

Cobber Senior Salute - Jared Saue - Men's Tennis

What is one of the top things you will miss about being a Cobber athlete?
What I think I'll miss the most about being a Cobber athlete are all of the incredible people that I've gotten to know through Concordia athletics. My own teammates and coaches, as well as athletes and coaches involved in other sports, are some of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

What is something you are going to miss about Concordia College – away from athletics?
The sense of community. It doesn't matter if you're involved in athletics, music, theater, etc., or not -- everyone takes a genuine interest in your success and well-being, which is why Concordia has come to feel so much like home.

What is one of your favorite highlights/memories from your time playing athletics/being with your team?
The spring break trips to Florida have always been memorable, especially defeating Adrian three years in a row. The best tennis memory I have, though, was after returning from spring break my sophomore year. After doubles, we trailed 0-3 against Bethel. We came back to win all 6 singles matches, though, to win as a team. With that huge conference victory, we went on to make the MIAC playoffs that year.

What is one of your favorite memories from Concordia away from athletics?
Aside from athletics, I'd have to say my favorite Concordia memory was Cornstock in 2018, when AJR performed.

What are your post-graduation plans?
After graduation, I plan to be a secondary English Teacher, either at the middle school or high school level and coach either tennis or basketball. My ultimate goal is to be an Athletic Director someday.
