Senior Salute - Eric Watt

The Cobber "Senior Salute" series is a way to honor all the Concordia spring sports athletes who had their senior season come to an abrupt halt. We want to highlight one senior each day to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and Cobber spirit they have show over their careers in maroon and gold.

Cobber Senior Salute - Eric Watt - Baseball

What was one of the things you were looking forward to most in the upcoming season?
Seeing all the hard work that was put in the off season pay off during the spring. It was really cool to see all the guys buy in this year and put in all the time in the weight room, practice, and off season. I looked forward to seeing all the hard work put to the test this year. Win or lose as a team, you do it as a team and that is the best part about it.

What is one of the top things you will miss about being a Cobber athlete?
Not just a Cobber athlete but a Cobber Baseball player. I will miss most the ability to create memories as a Cobber Baseball player. From freshman year to our short-lived senior year there are countless memories I have made with my friends and teammates. From our bus rides, to our Florida trip to team get togethers there are so many times you are surrounded by a great group of people and to not be able to have the chance to do that anymore is something I will dearly miss. There is something different about being a Cobber Baseball player that is tough replicate. It is everyone looking out for one another and truly being a part of a family that does not carry the statuses of a senior or a freshman, a starting player or someone who is on the bench, everyone is a Cobber baseball player and that is it. That is the coolest part about us and will again be something missed a lot.

What is something you are going to miss about Concordia College – away from athletics?
The people. Concordia produces wonderful people from all walks of life and it has been a pleasure meeting and becoming friends with so many awesome individuals.

What is one of your favorite highlights/memories from your time playing athletics/being with your team?
Florida trips as a whole consist of my favorite memories; big wins, seeing guys hit their first collegiate home runs, losing van keys, being at the pool, going to the beach.

What is one of your favorite memories from Concordia away from athletics?
Anytime that was spent outside of baseball hanging out with the team and Cornstock.

What are your post-graduation plans?
With my Business Marketing degree I will be pursuing a sales job.
