Senior Salute - Dylan Olsonawski

The Cobber "Senior Salute" series is a way to honor all the Concordia spring sports athletes who had their senior season come to an abrupt halt. We want to highlight one senior each day to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and Cobber spirit they have show over their careers in maroon and gold.

Cobber Senior Salute - Dylan Olsonawski - Baseball

What is one of the things you were looking forward to most for this year’s season?
Being able to hang out with all the guys one last season. Having 10 seniors on the team we were extremely deep throughout the pitching staff and position players. Many people will not realize the friendship and brotherhood that we have on the baseball team. Everyone treats each other equally there is a unique friendship between all of us. The amount of leadership on this team was the highest I have ever seen on a team and I am so grateful to have been able to be a part of it.

What is one of the top things you will miss about being a Cobber athlete?
How close everyone within the athletic department is. Walking around campus, all the coaches know us and will say hi to you. I have developed friendships with people from nearly every different team on campus.

What is something you are going to miss about Concordia College – away from athletics?
I am going to miss the amazing professors and all the friends I have made outside of the athletics department. It amazes me how much each of the professors care about us and want us to be as successful as we possibly can. I will miss the class time interactions with everyone I have met throughout the last four years.

What is one of your favorite highlights/memories from your time playing athletics/being with your team?
It is difficult to pick out one single highlight but getting to hangout with the pitching staff every single road trip is going to always stick with me. Whether it be packing 6 guys into one bed, having swimming races at the hotels, or doing random stuff in the bullpens at games, I will never forget those memories.

What is one of your favorite memories from Concordia away from athletics?
Receiving the Barry Scholarship was an honor and one of my favorite memories. Along with that, taking various trips to businesses and being able to have this opportunity because of the great connections Concordia has made with previous graduates.

What are your post-graduation plans?
In the Fall of 2020, I will be attending Arizona State University to pursue my Masters degree in Sports Law at the Sandra Day O’ Connor College of Law. Without the foundation I have built through attending Concordia I would not be in the situation that I am in. I want to say thank you to Concordia from the bottom of my heart for showing me how to be a leader in the community and to become the best man I can be.
