Senior Salute - Austin Ver Steeg

The Cobber "Senior Salute" series is a way to honor all the Concordia spring sports athletes who had their senior season come to an abrupt halt. We want to highlight one senior each day to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and Cobber spirit they have show over their careers in maroon and gold.

What is one of the things you were looking forward to most for this year’s season?
I was looking forward to competing with the team we had this year. It’s a shame the hard work the guys put in this offseason wont get noticed this year. I love each and everyone of these guys - especially the seniors. Cobber baseball will be better than ever, you just have to wait a year.

What is one of the top things you will miss about being a Cobber athlete?
I will miss all the support each Cobber sport has for one another.

What is something you are going to miss about Concordia College – away from athletics?
I’ll miss walking to class and seeing everyone everyday. Being here for four years I’ve met a lot of great people and the small campus allowed for you to cross paths with everyone.

What is one of your favorite highlights/memories from your time playing athletics/being with your team?
Playing down in Florida for spring break every year created a ton of memories I’ll never forget.

What is one of your favorite memories from Concordia away from athletics?
Hanging out with the boys. Also, Cornstock was always a great memory especially the AJR year.

What are your post-graduation plans?
I’ll start working with my major in healthcare financial management and long term care.
