Pollock Hired As Assistant

MOORHEAD, Minn. (6/23/21)---Concordia football head coach Terry Horan announced that Jake Pollock has been hired as an assistant coach for the program and facilities manager for the Cobber athletics department.

"Jake will be our offensive line coach and have a recruiting territory for the program – as well as his duties as facilities manager," Horan said.

Pollock comes to Concordia after serving on the staff at Division I Army in West Point. Pollock was the Defensive Recruiting Coordinator for the Black Knights. Before his stint at Army, Pollock was a Defensive Administrative Assistant at Utah State.

"Jake has worn many hats in a few different stops along the way which will serve him well in this role at Concordia," commented Horan. "Jake's high energy, charismatic personality and his 'roll up the sleeves' mentality' will be a huge asset in our recruiting efforts as well."

Pollock began his coaching career at Wis.-Stout. He served as an assistant coach with the Blue Devils from 2015-18 and was an assistant video coordinator, assistant on-campus recruiting coordinator and offensive coordinator for the junior varsity team.

"I've always admired the Cobbers from afar, and have always respected the tough, gritty, blue-collar mentality it takes to be an athlete at Concordia," Pollock said. "The opportunity to work with Coach Horan is a huge bonus and I'm incredibly excited for this opportunity."

Pollock moved to the University of Sioux Falls in 2018 where he started as the running backs coach and moved to tight ends coach in his second season. Pollock helped the Cougars finish with the fifth best rushing attack in 2018 in Division II and they also led the NSIC.

Pollock, who grew up in Litchfield, Minn., graduated from Wis.-Stout in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. He was a wide receiver for the Blue Devils' football program.

"Minnesota is my home," Pollock added. "I've spent the past few years traveling from coast to coast with some great universities, but it feels right to finally be back in the great state of Minnesota."
